I want to start my blog not with my biography but with the common questions the most of people are interested in. So, how to record the game?
First of all you need to decide what software to use for recording. There are a lot of software to select from: Fraps, Bandicam, Dxtory and others. I have to admit that the best video capturing software is paid. All this 3 programs have very similar price ~35$ for live-time license. And you need to chose the program you like more before you decide to buy it.
Now a bit more about all those programs.
1) Fraps. Great program if you have a lot of disk space and powerful computer for video converting. Fraps is recording loss-less video but it take a lot of disk space. Fraps have only one build-in codec that you are not able to change. One of the nice bonuses is that Fraps allows to record video with any FPS you want. But take in account that the video files will have a huge size and it takes more PC resources.
2) Bandicam. Advanced program for video capturing with a lot of customization settings. You can manage the quality and codecs for your video as well as you can put the quality of your video and sound. Bandicam have a lot of external and build in codecs, including the loss-less. With this program you will be able to configure the output video file size. Also you are able to manage the video resolution.
3) Dxtory. I never used this program and cant make a short review about it. But looks like it is more similar to Bandicam than Fraps with a lot of advanced settings.
I am using Bandicam. Very often I am recording the videos and I am not able to upload them in 2-3 weeks, so the disk space the video take is essential for me. Also I like that I can record on 720p instead of choosing between full and half size. And now I will describe my settings in Bandicam program.
All my settings are described in the forum: blackshot-online.eu (direct link to settings).
Here you can read them again:
1) General tab:
a) Output folder should not be located on the same physical disk where BlackShot has been installed (if you can).
b) The rest is default.
2) FPS tab:
a) I prefer overlay in left up corner, but this is optional.
b) FPS limit should be disabled.
3) Video tab:
a) For Record/Stop hot-key I use F9, pause is disabled.
b) No cursor is checked.
c) In Settings I capture Win7Sound WASAPI, secondary sound device is disabled.
d) Video format settings:
-) Size: Fit Height: 0x720;
-) FPS: 30;
-) Codec: Xvid, VBR is checked;
-) Quality: 100;
e) Audio format settings:
-) Channels: stereo;
-) Frequency: 48000 Hz;
-) Codec: MPEG-1 L2;
-) Bit-rate: 256 kbps;
4) Image tab:

b) repeat screen capture unchecked.

Good luck in recording and wish you nice FPS.
